What is involved with an installation?
First, there is a personal visit to determine the water pressure, and volume, available. We also measure the property so that we can design the most efficient system for your needs. We tie-in to the water source and run a main line. Then we divide the property into zones, or circuits, that make the best use of the water. We then run wires from the valves that control these zones back to the timer, usually in the garage. back to top

Will there be damage to existing landscape?
Damage will be minimal because of the equipment we use. The vibratory plow's blade just cuts a small slit in the sod, pulling/laying the pipe or wire down as it goes. back to top

Do you install drip systems?
Different areas require different treatments. Larger areas, lawns, would usually be watered with rotary heads because water is distributed over a larger area. For smaller areas we use smaller mist heads. We use drip systems for small tight shrub beds, gardens and areas prone to prevailing winds that would blow the water in the wrong direction. back to top

Is it expensive to run an underground sprinkler system?
Underground systems add value to your home both aesthetically and financially. Your lawn and garden will not be over/under or unevenly watered assuring your property will be greener and more lush. Many people use less water during the watering season because underground systems are so much more efficient than conventional sprinklers. back to top

How often should I water my lawn and for how long?
Each lawn is unique. The best watering times and length of watering depends on your climate, the type of grass and soil conditions. It is generally preferable to water infrequently for a longer period of time. This will provide a deep water source that roots search for. Watering frequently for shorter periods will promote surface root growth. back to top

What time of day should I operate my system?
We recommend watering early in the morning or in the evening. You may need to water in the middle of the day if it is hot and dry or if you have a new lawn that requires constant moisture. Watering more than once per day may be necessary if evaporation is extreme or if your soil does not hold water due to the clay content or hills that cause too much run off. back to top

What should I do if it rains?
Our timers have a shut off button for manual shut off. We also can connect the timer to an automatic shutdown which is triggered by rainy weather. back to top

Does the system need to be winterized?
Systems should be winterized to prevent damage. We can winterize your system and restart the system in the spring. This will involve cleaning, flushing and adjusting the nozzles and heads. We will also reprogram the the controller. back to top

How do I maintain my system?
We install our systems so that you can 'set it and forget it'. back to top

Can I use my underground well as a water source?
We can tie the system into an underground water source. Because the water will tend to have a lot of debris, sand, moss, and other contaminants we will install a 'sand separator'. This will eliminate the need for a filter and the expense of filter cartridges. back to top
